HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

From ghoulies and ghosties and long-legged beasties, and things that go bump in the night~ deliver us CANDY!

Happy Halloween everyone, I hope ahead lies a wonderful night of cavorting with devils and partaking in that yearly orgy of wrapped sweets gluttony! And for a special Halloween Diablerie we have the Marquis himself~ costumed by the amazing Mike Oeming (artist on Powers, Mice Templar and the new Rapture series for Dark Horse) who dressed up like Vol de Galle to haunt those candy strewn streets of All Hallows Eve!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween is just around the corner and instead of passing out candy to the gremlins knocking at the door, I'll be at the Detroit Fanfare Comicon on Oct 30-31st in Dearborn, Michigan! If you're in the area please stop by my table in artist alley to say hello~ along with sketchbooks, original artwork and copies of The Marquis:Inferno for sale, I'll have free Marquis pins too!

Above: An almost completed page to the upcoming Marquis and the Midwife, as Vol de Galle escapes the frozen waterworks of Venisalle. After finishing it I didn't like the architecture to the last panel and redid it~ I'll post a peek at the new panel compared to the original above in a future blog post!

THE MARQUIS DIABLERIES 105

The always amazing (and Sandman Mystery Theatre cohort) Matt Wagner revisits the Marquis! This was a convention drawing he did back in 2008 (which unfortunately wasn't grabbed up by me), but Matt painted the first Marquis: Danse Macabre cover for the mini-series launch back in 2000!

THE MARQUIS DIABLERIES 104

Gearing up for Halloween, P. Calavara sent me this cool pinup of the Marquis hanging out with a party of devils~ and in true Marquis fashion, one of the guests shows up without pants (which amuses the Sin of One devil to no end)!

THE MARQUIS DIABLERIES 103

Another wonderful drawing of the Marquis by the crazy talented, Alex Sheikman! You can see more of Alex's takes on the character in the earlier Diableries~ and of course check out his blog for more cool art all around!

THE MARQUIS DIABLERIES 102

Sorry about the missing Diableries in the past weeks~ but to get everything back on track, here's a double Diablerie dose for Sunday! Starting with this haunting painting by Bartosz Jekiel of a lurking devil of Venisalle, or maybe it's a portrait of Vol de Galle showing his inner turmoil as the Marquis!
