Le Marquis deux~

For the French edition of The Marquis: Danse Macabre published by Les Humanoïdes Associés, I first went with the idea of doing the cover based on the old proposal art showing the Marquis above the stairs that turn into the devils. Humanoides asked for something that tied into a scene from the actual story, so I reworked it to the finished drawing above. The printed cover was colored by Raúl Treviño and is reprinted in the color cover gallery of the new Marquis: Inferno collection from Dark Horse Comics.

  1. I don't think I've ever had such excitement and anticipation for the continuation of a story before! As far as comics goes, this is the best news I could possibly come across. Can't wait for the new graphic novel. Thank you sooooo much for getting back to it! The art, of course, is great.

  2. The final cover looks great (of course), but what a shame that you were not able to execute the original design idea...any possibility of that becoming an illustration/cover sometime down the road?

  3. Thanks Michael and Alex! I don't have any plans to use that first design for a cover/illo down the road. I've already worked out the cover designs for the remaining Dark Horse volumes and will be posting a peek of the Midwife cover soon.
