Home, sweet Hell! Sorry about the missed Diableries the passed couple weeks~ a couple of conventions threw me off, but the weekend Marquis fanart will be back on track. Starting with this great drawing by the amazing Kassandra Heller.
I got to be artist alley neighbors with Kassandra last weekend at the S.P.A.C.E expo and she was kind enough to draw me a really cool Marquis (that I'll post in the coming weeks), but during the show she also drew the above piece on her table cover (and I was able to convince her to tear it off for me after the show)~ showing the Marquis wishing he was home surrounded by me and my fiancee's menagerie of pets.
Awesome! I love her work!

ReplyDelete1) Artist that inspired you?
2) What brush size do you use?
3) Thumbnails and then script to help guide you or script first and then thumbs?
4) Favorite story to read?
5) Favorite character to draw?
Hi Nicolas,
ReplyDeleteHere's some quick answers for ya (and say Hello to Chris for me!)
1) There's a lot that I find inspiring, but if I had to pick just one I'd say Jacques Tardi
2) Mostly a #4 or #3 brush
3) For anything I don't write like BPRD, it's script first~ for the Marquis and stuff I write for myself it's usually thumbnails first
4) Hard to pick one~ I'd still say Otomo Katsuhiro's DOMU is my favorite comic story.
5) It's a tie between The Marquis and Abe Sapien from BPRD.
i like just how many marquis drawings include cute bunnies...that i drew and cute bunny and the marquis.
ReplyDeleteit was great seeing y'all at the con. we've got to get together soon!
